Venturing Committee Notes

January 30 CLT

1. Merrial Thares promoted National Youth Leadership Training. 
2. Mark spoke about upcoming Central Region/Area 1 Venturing activities and the need for assistance/staff.
3. Four possible summer activities were proposed:
   1. Tubing on the Niobrara River: cost for tubing approx. $75/person
   2. Red Hot Rocks (zip line and rappelling)
   3. Horseback riding
   4. Sailing in Yankton
4. Tubing on the Niobrara has been adopted by Crew 350.  They will invite other crews to participate.  The dates they will try for are June 24-26.
5. Red Hot Rocks: proposed dates for this event are August 6-8, with an April/May deadline for promotional materials.
6. Mark will be hosting a Skype conference for all interested Venturers and Crews on February 20^th at 1:00 PM.
7. Mark R. will be absent from the April CLT meeting.
8. Ryan B. will be the “keeper” of the email list.
9. Other activities discussed with dates:
   1. Corn Maze: October 8-10, 2010
   2. Some sort of winter activity: January 14-17, 2011
   3. Undetermined summer activity: June 25-27, 2011
   4. Red Hot Rocks: August 5-7, 2011
10. April 30-May 2 is the Area 1 Venturing event
11. Tom S. promoted the White Rive canoe race in Arkansas for any interested Crews.
